December 4, 2010 Weekend Edition
Good Morning,
Lots of news, per usual (be sure to make it all the way to the end),
to keep you busy and up to date today, but I’d like to pause and make
mention of what’s taking place in Walden tonight. It’s Christmas on
Main Street. Amid all the politics, the let downs, the work to get our
Country back on track, if possible take the trip to Walden with your
family. We all need some family time and this sounds like a great
event for it. Surely you can’t go wrong with food, music, shopping (to
help support local businesses) a live nativity by the Freedom Road
Bible Church, and tons for the little ones to do (not to mention Santa
will arrive at 7). I need some rejuvenation so I’m taking the family
on the hour long drive, after all the town of Walden isn’t afraid to
use the word Christmas! So, we’ll be in good company! Hope to see you
there too!!
Today, yes Saturday, the Senate reconvenes at 8:30am. Votes will begin
at 10:30am with the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur
in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to HR 4853 with the
Baucus amendment #4727. After that, the Senate will vote on Schumer’s
amendment #4728. Should be an interesting day after the name calling
scenario we had yesterday:

Sometimes there are no words to describe something – this happens an
awful lot lately. But here’s the latest: In New York the recount has
found 195,000 votes that were missed on Election night. Seriously –
that amounts to 1 in 6 votes uncounted in NYC on election night.

Peggy alerted me to the WSJ’s report that a mystery buyer is holding
more than half of the copper stocks at the London metal Exchange’s
warehouse. This mystery person owns between 50 and 80% of the 355,750
metric tons held in the LME warehouse. It’s value is about $1.5
Billion. As you know, I’m not a betting person but the name Soros is
probably a darn good bet!

Lynn T. went to see her doctor this week. She reports: Not only is he
barely making ends meet, but the government is now requiring that all
doctors purchase expensive scanning equipment for the purpose of
scanning in all of our medical histories into a main database. Doctors
will no longer be able to keep any private paper medical files.
Americans will no longer have any right to the privacy of their
healthcare.
Michelle Obama’s push for a child nutrition bill appears to give the
government power to limit school bake sales and other fundraisers that
health advocates say sometimes replace wholesome meals in the

Senator Reid is pushing a new bill that will allow for online
gambling. Now this is interesting. I love to play Texas Holdem’
(didn’t say I was good at it, just said I love to play). Anywhoo, I
was speaking about this with my mom not to long ago and she had a
great idea! We should allow it, but online players must go through a
credit history – much like you go through to get a credit card. Your
credit history will conclude your gambling funds. In other words – say
you’re a high credit risk, well then you can only gamble say $25 a
month. You have an aces credit rating you’re approved for a larger
amount. You’re on public assistance – you can’t gamble online period.
It’s seriously something to consider given that people are playing
online for cash even though its illegal for banks and credit card
companies to make payments to gambling websites.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Today we have a cause for celebration. Today, we should celebrate what
an unbelievable life we’ve have had so far: the accomplishments, the
many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served
to make us stronger. Just as a gem cannot be polished without
friction, nor can a life be perfected without trials.

LOCAL NEWS:
Honestly, I don’t know how to say this but – I couldn’t be happier
this man is out – but not soon enough. I’m speaking about John Hall.
Still not getting it he sent out a mass email stating (ty Bill): Dear
Friend, After many months of debate, yesterday the House voted on
legislation to extend middle-class tax cuts that will spur economic
growth in America and help the vast majority of Americans struggling
through a tough economy. By voting in favor of this bill I kept my
commitment of fighting for tax cuts for the middle class and ensuring
prosperity is for all American’s and not just those at the top.
For all families making less than $250,000 a year, this bill
permanently extends the 2001/2003 tax cuts, including current tax
rates, marriage penalty relief, capital gains and dividends rates, and
$1,000 child tax credit. In the end, this will save the typical
middle-class family approximately $1,000 per year. The money saved,
will be spent in the economy and help to create jobs across the board.
The bill also protects more than 25 million taxpayers from the
alternative minimum tax by extending the AMT patch through 2011 and
permanently extending small business expensing. The AMT action is
particularly important to thousands of my constituents who are
unfairly burdened by this tax, while facing a higher cost of living
than most other areas. The Senate must still act on this important
legislation for it to become law. I am calling on members of the
Senate to vote on this bill as soon as possible. Partisan posturing
and bickering can not stand in the way of providing the great American
middle class with the tax relief it deserves.
According to the J.News today, Senator Leibell’s charges include
obstruction of justice and tax evasion. Within the report, newly
elected Senator Greg Ball assures citizens that he’s been in touch
with Senator Leibell, the “transition is in place” and he looks
forward to continuing his (Lebiell’s) legacy of hard work while making
his own imprint on issues of reform:

Joyce sends us: The people of Carmel need your help -
Residents of Putnam County need to speak out NOW – for themselves and
for the injustice happening in Mahopac NY. Wealth and greed will
destroy the last of our precious land. We need your signature and the
signatures of your friends, relatives, and neighbors. We all need to
speak out now and make government remember THEY WORK FOR US!!!!!
If we stand by and allow “Union Place” to be built – WE ALL LOSE!
Please go to – http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/carmelnyzoning/
What is “Union Place”? A development on 287 + acres that will include
17 buildings; of big box retail, grocery store, pharmacy, hotel,
restaurants, professional offices’ with 180 rental units on the 2nd
floor and 300 residential housing units.
Where is “Union Place” going to be built? Its location will be at the
border of Westchester and Putnam Counties on Route 6 and Baldwin Place
Road. Part of the site will include Mahopac Farm’s 33 acres and the
Mobil station. Both sites will be demolished and become the major
access point for Union Place.
When is Union Place going to be built? Construction will begin once
the approvals have been given by the regulatory agencies. A Draft
Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), mandated by NYS, has been given
to the Carmel Planning Board for approval. It includes the Proposed
Action Plan and alternatives. Most of the plans require zoning
changes and until the zoning codes are changed the project will be on
hold. DEIS report can be found at this website:
http://timmillerassociates.com/publicreview/unionplace/
Why has this petition been issued? Residents of Carmel are concerned
that the zoning codes will be amended to meet the developer’s needs.
In the past amending the zoning codes have caused destruction of
precious land, blasting and drastic change to the topography, and
problems with groundwater resources. We the people believe that
zoning laws have been designed to protect the land and the residents’
not out-of-state developers. This petition requests that both the
Town Board and Zoning Board of Appeals NOT change any zoning codes.
Further information on Union Place can be found at this website:

QUICK PICKS:
NEW YORK – EmpireStateNews.Net reports that New York City OTB is
shutting down, as of the end of business today, following failure of
the state legislature to approve a bailout plan during a special
session this week. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Conference Leader John
Sampson wants his house back in session, to try again. “I am calling
the Senate back into session on Tuesday, December 7th to vote on the
proposed reorganization of the New York City Off Track Betting
Corporation”, Sampson said in a statement released Thursday. “I have
spoken to our colleagues across the aisle to urge bipartisan
cooperation and action on this and other outstanding issues before the
state, such as appropriating federal funding to keep our educators
working.” NYC OTB issued its own statement in an effort to assure
customers that all winning tickets will be cashed. “In light of press
reports and the statements, NYC OTB would like to clarify to its
customers that all un-cashed winning tickets, vouchers or funds on
account with NYC OTB are safe and secure”, says a a statement posted
on the NYC OTB website. “Customer funds are held in a separate bank
account, designated as containing “customer” funds and deposits which
are fully funded and entirely segregated from the Corporation’s own
corporate funds.”
The state Legislature’s move this week to create a commission to study
and recommend salaries for judges could ultimately allow state
lawmakers to get their long-awaited raises. Assembly Speaker Sheldon
Silver told reporters today – including the Daily News’ Erin Einhorn -
that the Commission on Judicial Compensation should be a model for
finally solving the contentious issue of how much pay Assembly members
and senators should receive. “The only thing we did was judicial pay
raises,” Silver said. “That’s all that’s in the bill. Should we remove
legislative pay raises from the political process? Probably. And
should that be a model for it ultimately? Yes. But this was not done
in any way to affect legislative pay raises.” The Senate and Assembly
both approved legislation this week creating the judicial commission
and Gov. Paterson is expected to sign it. Once in operation, the panel
would convene every four years to examine and make recommendations on
how much pay the approximately 1,300 state judges and New York City
Housing Court judges should get. Members of the judicial and
legislative branch have not received raises since 1999. Gov.-elect
Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday said he would consider signing legislation
next year that gives lawmakers raises should a bill be approved by
both houses.
Lieutenant Colonel Terrence Lakin, a distinguished Army flight
surgeon, is “certain” to be convicted of disobeying orders, according
to his lawyer, Neil Puckett. LTC Lakin will go on trial December 14
for refusing to deploy with his unit to Afghanistan. The senior
officer questioned the legal validity of his orders because they
originate ultimately with President Barack Obama, whose eligibility to
serve as commander in chief under article II of the U.S. Constitution
remains unproven. “Based on the evidence available, his conviction is
certain,” Puckett told WND. “He has no affirmative defense for the
offenses he committed.” “There is not much left to do” in defense of
his client, Puckett said. Lakin’s previous defense counsel, Paul
Jensen, already “sought discovery of documents, and to introduce
evidence and expert witnesses, but the judge shut down all those
efforts.” During a September hearing, Colonel Denise Lind, the judge
in the case, censored the last remaining arguments Lakin planned to
make in his defense: motive and duty. Lakin had intended to explain
his motive for disobeying the order and contend that it was his duty
as a good soldier to disobey orders that he believed to be illegal.
Lind also rejected defense requests to call as witnesses Ambassador
Alan Keyes and retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney. Keyes was
to explain the constitutional issues involved in the case, and
McInerney was to talk about the training soldiers receive regarding
when they should question and even disobey orders.
According to the Star-Telegram, a local Texas businessman had
assembled and decorated a 9-foot-tall tree in the lobby of the Chase
Bank Southlake Boulevard branch in Tarrant County as a favor to the
manager, who is one of his clients. The branch manager was quickly
told by the bank that the tree had to go. She later showed the
businessman an e-mail from JPMorgan Chase saying that the tree had to
be removed because some people were offended by it. According to
internal Chase documents the American Family Association has received,
Chase says every bank has “received approved holiday decorations in
your December One Box. These are the only (emphasis in original)
decorations that may be displayed in the public areas of your branch.
If you have any other decorations…please take them down.” Chase
provided decorations…four small window stickers with lights printed
on them. That’s it! According to the employee, “At work, Chase expects
us to perform like company-programmed robots and not share the spirit
of Christmas with our customers. We’re real people and our customers
are real people, but Chase has put chains on our individuality and our
ability to share the spirit of Christmas with our friends and
neighbors who bank with us.” Take Action Send an email to JP Morgan
Chase bank, letting them know their callous approach to Christmas is
just plain wrong. Tell them you think branch bank employees should be
able to represent the Spirit of Christmas that reflects the
celebrations of the local community.

TRUTH is Treason in the Empire of Lies. Will Pitts went to a lot of
trouble to put this together. It is worthy of your time. Dear fellow
American,
As 2011 approaches our country is in a very grave situation. We have
Treason in high places.
If one pours gasoline on the side of a building and ignites the
building while they profess that they are simply trying to help those
inside stay warm; how long will people watch in disbelief before they
conclude that the stated intent does not match the actions or results
of the arsonist?
When we see this grand ceremony about cutting off $160 Billion in
unemployment aid and federal employee pay freezes “to save the
country”, keep in mind the Federal Reserve Bank gave out trillions of
dollars to foreigners, American financiers and bankers that will never
be repaid. This money has gone to the direct benefit of the individual
owners of these institutions, many of which have conflicted interest
as a result of their interest in the Federal Reserve Bank.
The level of fraud, corruption, secret transactions and insider
backroom deals and sheer magnitude of the amount of money looted from
the American people is incomprehensible. The actions of these bankers
has destabilized our financial and economic markets and the currency
of the United States of America so as to undermine the very foundation
of our Constitutional Republic.
If the Federal Reserve Bank has the power to send teams of auditors to
local and regional banks to inspect every loan and the collateral
behind every loan, and these banks are required to participate in the
Fed system, then these local and regional banks should have the power
to inspect the collateral pledged to the Fed for the trillion dollars
of loans the Fed secretly made to foreign cronies with trash
collateral.
It is now time that every American call and send this to their
Governor, State Attorney General, Congressman, US Attorney, local FBI
office, US Senator ,state senators and legislators.
DEMAND that a full Congressional Inquiry and a United States Grand
Jury be Convened immediately to consider the UnAmerican Activities and
Treasonous Activities of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and
conspirators that have committed fraud, corruption, perjury and
looting of the United States.

With regard to LTC Lakin, keep in mind that this isn’t the first time that Neal Puckett, his attorney, has spoken to WND.
On October 19, WND published an interview in which Puckett spoke of the rulings by the judge. He said, “She was right on the facts and right on the law.”
He went on to say that “[a]ll those issues concerning the president’s eligibility to hold office are completely irrelevant as to whether Lt. Col. Lakin was issued lawful orders and whether he obeyed them.”
Remember, this is the attorney that LTC Lakin has chosen to represent him. Perhaps we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the judge’s rulings if Lakin’s own attorney says they are correct.
We need to look into this a little more deeply. It seems to me that if we want to support Lakin we have to respect his decisions, and unless his lawyer his lying, the current position of the Lakin team is that the Judge was right to deny the eligibility defense.
